Privacy Policy

Effective 08.10.2026. Last updated 08.10.2026.

1. Who we are

This website and the Hotel Sebatikel brand are operated by Sebatikel Holdings Pty Ltd (ABN 30 661 468 677), trading as Hotel Sebatikel ("we", "us", "our"), Lot 510 Kerry Graham Road, Exmouth, Western Australia.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), and the Australian Consumer Law. Western Australia does not currently have a general privacy statute covering private businesses, so the Commonwealth laws are the ones that apply to us. Even where we might be exempt from parts of the Privacy Act, for example as a small business, we choose to follow these standards.

2. What personal information we collect

What we collect depends on how you deal with us.

  • If you join our email list: your email address, and when and how you signed up.

  • If you make or enquire about a booking: your name, email, phone number, postal or billing address, the names and ages of the people travelling with you, arrival and departure details, and your booking history and preferences.

  • Payment details: card details are entered into and handled by our payment processor. We don't store full card numbers ourselves. We keep a record of the transaction, such as the amount, date and the last four digits of the card.

  • During your stay: dining reservations, charges to your room, spa and activity bookings, vehicle hire and driver details where relevant, and any requests you make of our team.

  • Health and dietary information: allergies, dietary requirements, mobility or accessibility needs, and pregnancy or medical considerations relevant to spa, wellness or activity bookings. This is sensitive information, and we only collect it with your consent and where it's reasonably needed to look after you.

  • Website use: device and browser type, pages visited, the website you came from, approximate location, and similar technical data collected through cookies and analytics tools (see section 7).

  • Communications: emails, messages, social media interactions and feedback you send us.

  • Photos and video: if you appear in photographs or filming on the property, we'll ask your permission before using them in our marketing. Security cameras operate in some areas, which are signposted.

3. How we collect it

Mostly, directly from you: through our website, booking system, email, phone or in person. Sometimes from the person who made a booking on your behalf, from a travel adviser or agent, from our service providers, or from publicly available sources. If someone books for a group, they're responsible for letting the other guests know we're holding their details.

Children. We collect information about children travelling with you from the parent or guardian making the booking. We only use it to provide the stay, and we don't market to children.

4. Why we collect and use it

We use personal information to:

  • take, manage and confirm bookings, deposits and payments;

  • provide your stay, including dining, wellness, recreation and transport;

  • look after your health, safety and accessibility needs;

  • contact you before and after your stay;

  • send you an alert when bookings open, if you've asked for one;

  • send you news, offers and updates, if you've agreed to receive them;

  • improve our website, services and guest experience;

  • keep our accounts and records, and meet our legal, tax, insurance and regulatory obligations; and

  • prevent fraud, resolve disputes and protect our property and people.

We only use or disclose your information for these purposes, or for a related purpose you'd reasonably expect, unless you consent or the law requires or permits otherwise.

5. Marketing and email alerts

If you leave your email in our sign-up form, we'll use it to tell you when bookings open and may send a reminder. If you've also agreed to receive other marketing, we'll send it to you. Every marketing message identifies us and includes a working unsubscribe link, which we'll act on within five business days. You can also email us at concierge@sebatikel.com at any time. We won't sell your email address.

You'll still receive essential messages about a booking, such as confirmations and changes, even if you unsubscribe from marketing.

6. Who we share it with

We share personal information only as needed, with:

  • Service providers that run our systems on our behalf, including our property management and point-of-sale platform, payment processing, restaurant reservations, accounting, email and website hosting and analytics providers, IT and security services, and professional advisers such as accountants, lawyers and insurers;

  • Partners and suppliers who deliver part of your stay, such as tour and experience operators, vehicle and transfer providers, and wellness practitioners, but only the details they need;

  • Authorities and regulators where the law requires or permits it, for example for tax, health, safety or law enforcement; and

  • A buyer or successor if the business or its assets are sold, subject to the same privacy protections.

We require our providers to protect your information and use it only for the services they perform for us.

7. Cookies and website analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, understand how visitors use it and, where you've agreed, support our marketing. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work properly.

Our site may link to other websites, including our social media accounts. We aren't responsible for their privacy practices.

8. Sending information overseas

Some of our providers store or process information outside Australia. Depending on the service, this may include the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom and Singapore. Before sending your information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient handles it in line with the APPs. If you book from overseas, you understand your information will be handled in Australia and the other places described here.

9. How we keep it secure

We protect personal information with access controls, encrypted connections, secure systems and staff training. No system is completely secure, so please be careful with the information you send us by email.

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, for example tax and accounting records, which are generally kept for at least five years. When we no longer need it, we destroy it or de-identify it.

If there's a data breach likely to cause you serious harm, we'll notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

10. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it's inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us at concierge@sebatikel.com. We'll respond within 30 days where we can, and we'll verify your identity first. If we can't give you access or make a correction, we'll explain why in writing, and you can ask us to note your statement against the record.

You can also ask us to delete your information, and we'll do so unless we need to keep it for legal or legitimate business reasons.

11. Making a complaint

If you think we've mishandled your personal information, email us first, or write to us at the details below. We'll acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, by phone on 1300 363 992, or by post to GPO Box 5288, Sydney NSW 2001.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on our website with the date it came into effect.
